A Blessing Way Ceremony is a term from the Navajo Native American Indian people, referring to a ritual that refers to honoring a pregnant woman as she prepares to birth her baby. Therefore, we will gather in circle to support and celebrate you as your family gets ready to welcome your baby earthside.

Please feel free to bring a meaningful object that you would like to add to our altar- it can be something of value to you, which will be returned to you at the end of our ceremony.

Meet Your Facilitators

Kim Guccione is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), mother of 3 and former public school educator. After leaving public education and birthing her third baby, Kim decided that she wanted to support mothers and get involved in maternal health. With the guidance of her loved ones (including Dr. Emily), she decided to pursue the path of lactation counseling. While working as a Peer Breastfeeding Counselor with WIC (Women, Infants and Children), Kim completed her certification as a CLC and has now decided to start her own practice in order to help mamas achieve their breastfeeding goals through compassionate support and research-based education. Kim looks forward to meeting you and acting as a guide on your breastfeeding journey.

Krista O’Dea is the founder of One Strong Mother and Artemis Doula Services. She is a Fit for Birth Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, Diastasis Core Consultant, Corrective Flexibility Specialist, and Holistic Fertility & Pregnancy Safe Coach. Additionally, she is a home-birth midwifery student, doula, paramedic, Reiki Master and an avid advocate for the health and well-being of ALL women!
